Warwick Control provide both theoretical and practical training for CAN, CANopen, J1939, LIN, and FlexRay communication protocols. Training can be held at the Warwick Control offices or at the customers site.

The schedule as of is as follows:


5 June - CAN and In-Vehicle Networking Technical Training
19 June - CAN and In-Vehicle Networking Technical Training
20 June - Flexray (specialist)

Each of these courses have a CAN Tool option, where for a small amount more the attendee can go home with a CAN bus analysis tool for the PC.
Warwick Control will schedule training at request for companies with 3 or more attendees.
Specialist courses in the emerging FlexRay protocol are also available.

Two types of training packages are available:-

For Scheduled Training the sessions are limited to 6 persons, so there is lots of scope for personalised training. Please contact us on sales@warwickcontrol.com to reserve you space. We will require a Purchase Order or a credit card order to reserve your space. Warwick Control accepts major credit cards except American Express.

For Custom Training, a Warwick Control trainer can carry out the training on the customer site for a fixed fee. For groups of 4 or more people Warwick Control offer a 10% discount & For groups of 6 or more people Warwick Control offer a 25% discountoff the normal training cost if the group comes to the Warwick Control offices in Warwickshire.

CAN and In-Vehicle Networking Technical Training


This training is an all encompassing In-Vehicle Networks technical training with the emphasis on Controller Area Network (CAN). There will be theory sessions intermingled with hands on training session. CAN will be extensively covered along with Signals interpretation and the J1939 Higher Layer Protocol. Also covered will be CAN On Board Diagnostics.

Rounding off the day will be coverage of Local Interconnect Network (LIN) with a Lab Demo. Then the niche protocols will be briefly covered – FlexRay, MOST and CAN-FD.

The lab sessions will utilise CAN Network Analysis Tools, CAN Diagnostic Scan Tools and PicoScope.

CAN Tool & Training Packages

We announce our new CAN Training & CAN analysis Tool initiative.

Also, we are introducing a chance to gain an entry level CAN analysis tool at a great savings.

The normal cost of the training ia £249, but for £499 you can go home with a CAN analysis tool that will let you observe the real time CAN bus. This will allow you to see all the CAN messages, and features such as bus load can be observed. Also, you will be able to ascertain if the CAN bus incurring error conditions.

LIN Developers Training

A training session for candidates requiring in-depth knowledge about the LIN protocol and system development.

The agenda consists of:-

CANopen Training

The CAN / CANopen training course is an all-day session that is relevant for engineers and technicians of all levels. It is particularly pitched towards industrial control industries such as manufacturing and automation. Some specialized transport vehicle industries will be interested as well. This is an informal day, where you are encouraged to ask questions and discuss issues that are relevant to you throughout the day. We have no limit on the schedule, so you are free to stay on at the end of the day and ask further questions.
The morning session consists of theory of CAN and CANopen, and we cover setting up CANopen nodes, where configuration methods are discussed.

The afternoon session is made up of hands-on lab sessions, where you get a chance to use the tools necessary to diagnose a healthy CAN/CANopen bus. You will also learn the significance of how the data is interpreted into real signals. Also, we cover how analyze CANopen commands and functions.
