NMEA Stack

Overview
The NMEA Fast Packets Module is an additional feature for supporting the National Marine Electronics Association Fast Packet messages. This module integrates with the existing Multi-CAN J1939 Protocol Stack implementation to handle the fast packet messages. The NMEA Fast Packets module has been thoroughly tested and complies to the existing NMEA J1939 standard. By handling the low-level details of the Fast Packets communication, the NMEA Fast Packets Protocol Stack Module allows the developer to focus solely on implementing the application.

The NMEA Fast Packets module requires a Multi-CAN J1939 Protocol Stack. For a proven solution, the Noregon Multi-CAN J1939 Protocol Stack (sold separately) has been thoroughly tested for integration with the NMEA Fast Packets module.

Noregon has developed Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs) (sold separately) for several popular microcontroller families, or you can use the Protocol Stack Reference Manual to guide you through the steps needed to customize the code — or take advantage of Noregon’s consulting services and let our team of experienced engineers do it for you!

Licensing
Your purchase of the NMEA Fast Packets J1939 Protocol Stack Module includes a royalty-free license. The only restrictions are the Noregon or HAL copyright must be maintained in the code and the customer can not resell the protocol stack as a standalone product.

Technical Support and Warranty
Engineering technical support is available by email for a period of 60 days following your purchase. This 60 day warranty/support period also covers correction of any defects that you might find in the Protocol Stack as you integrate it into your target hardware/processor.
